DigiDrummer on the App Store

DigiDrummer is a virtual drum kit for iPhone and iPod touch. Not only can you compose your own beats using 12 unique drum kits, you can also record, save and play.

Main Features

  • 12 virtual drum kits – Classic, TD88, BeatMe, Machine, Funky, S880, Eighty, Metal2, Crazy, Flipped Out, Special and Bounce.
  • Very clean, easy to use user interface.
  • 2 different layouts for small or large fingers.
  • Ability to play along to music from the iPod app.
  • Record, save and playback beats.
  • High quality 16-bit drum samples.
  • 8 drumpads for each kit.
  • Future updates guaranteed.
  • Low price tag.

The Good

DigiDrummer has to be one of/the best drummer apps on the App Store at the moment. The developer, Magnus Larsson is always guaranteeing satisfaction by providing constant updates. The interface itself is very simple. The top bar consists of a ‘DigiDrummer’ heading, Record, Play and Settings buttons. On the right there are up and down arrows to go through the drum kits. The rest of the screen is occupied by 8 drums. They can be displayed in the classic skin (small circles) or the ‘Fatty Thumbs Skin’ (large squares). Hitting the Record button will start recording what ever you play. Afterwards, pressing record again and then save will let you type a title for your little beat and save it in your ‘Library’. Also, it has a very low price tag of $1.19 (at the moment anyway).

The Bad

The response time for hitting a drum can be delayed sometimes but that is caused via the iPhone or iPod touch hardware, not the app. There is no way to get your beats off your device and onto somewhere else. An email addition would be nice.

In a Nutshell

Basically almost everything you could want in a drumming app at a very low price.

MySpace Mobile on the App Store

Whether you are a MySpace fanatic, general user or occasional visitor, the MySpace Mobile App from MySpace.com is sure to provide to all of your MySpace needs.

Main Features

·        A clean, easy to use user interface.

·        Ability to send/receive messages.

·        Comment on profiles and photos.

·        View and post bulletins.

·        Update status and mood.

·        Accept/decline friend requests.

·        Search people.

·        5 friend viewing options.

·        Works on Wi-Fi, 3G and GPRS (Edge)

The Good

MySpace Mobile has a very simple, yet feature packed user interface. The five main aspects of MySpace can be accessed by the five tabs at the bottom of the screen. These are:  Home, Mail, Requests, Friends and Photos. Within the app, the ability to post comments on friends profiles and pictures, post and read bulletins, search for new people, add friends, organise and sort through mail, view friends, upload photos and see what your friends are up to, are all open to you from your iPhone or iPod touch.

The Bad

Custom layouts cannot be viewed as the app has it’s own profile layout for users, though, you may still use a custom profile picture. The ‘Remember Me’ button will automatically remember you and log you in at the start up of the app instead of just remember your email like the full MySpace.com. Loading images is quite slow, even on a strong Wi-Fi connection.

In a Nutshell

The MySpace Mobile App is by far the best solution for maintaining a MySpace profile away from your home computer. With a sleek user interface packed with features, it stands on top of the rest. Hey, it’s free. What have you got to lose?
